Liking the words and colours of Ben Eine's latest wall in Covent Garden, London....

oranges and lemons say the bells of St Clements
pancakes and fritters say the bells of St Peters
two sticks and an apple say the bells of Whitechapel

Wayne White Word Paintings

"Wayne White's most successful works have been the world paintings featuring oversized, three-dimensional text painstakingly integrated into vintage landscape reproductions. The message of the paintings is often thought-provoking and almost always humorous, with Wayne pointing a finger at vanity, ego, and his memories of the South." He actually won three Emmys for his work on the set design of Pee-Wee's Playhouse!! This guy has talent in all kinds of fields of creativity...

Arabic Graffiti Book

"A recently published book titled Arabic Graffiti by From Here to Fame Publishing documents street art from “freight trucks of Lebanon, along village alleyways in Bahrain, on the bullet-riddled walls of Palestine, or adorning the walls of Western metropolises and designer bags.” It showcases a spread of Arabic calligraphy from the Middle East to urban art niches in Iran, France, the UK, Germany, and Canada."

Street Fonts Book Competition

Dont Panic & Claudia Walde, author of 'Street Fonts' have teamed up to do a comp to Design Your Own Font.

"The Street Fonts — Graffiti Alphabets book saw Claudia challenge over 154 artists to design all twenty-six letters of the Latin alphabet. Don't Panic and Thames and Hudson are giving you the chance to see your own street font displayed alongside those featured in Claudia Walde's new book at the book launch next month at Pure Evil Gallery. The top five winners will also receive a free copy of the book and an invitation to the private view and launch party. The overall winner will also receive £300 worth of Thames & Hudson books of their choice.

The brief is open to artists from all mediums, not just street art! Simply create your own alphabet, A to Z, follow the Don't Panic guidelines carefully and then upload your design to their site. You can upload from now, with voting opening on the 24th March, and closing on 8th April 2011. Good luck."
