The Phuket Vegetarian Festival kicked off on the weekend with local residents of Chinese ancestry giving up meat for 10 days. Oh, and sticking all sorts of things through their cheeks.
The 4th July marked the first summer jam at my local skatepark Brixton Beach. It's a legendary place within the London skate scene, and to celebrate the council deciding to re-vamp the place rather than knock it to the ground for council homes, a jam was held. Below is a rather boring vid, but loads of positivity and a lick of new paint features in it, and might I say what a rad painting was made, big up! Viva la Stockwell Park!
A telephone booth aquarium. By artists Benoit Deseille and Benedetto Bufalino for the Lyon Light Festival in France.
"With the advent of the mobile telephone, telephone booths lie unused. We rediscover this glass cage transformed into an aquarium, full of exotically coloured fish; an invitation to escape and travel."
Finissimo! The finished wall from Lovebox. It's all over now, but I'm sure there will be a ton of photos on flikr for you to peruse at your leasure. Big up to all the artists (Meker, Sares, Herse, Tobe) You guys smashed the Eastpak ramp good 'n proper. There are a few more events this summer, so if you like what you see, keep posted.
With a bit of luck the sun will show it's face! If you happen to be joining the party, go have a wonder down to the half-pipe for a showcase from the Eastpak team and some skateboarding.
