WTF Magical Goop Scoop

Seriously....how the hell does this contraption work? Developed by Furukawa Kikou, this robotic machine can pick up semi liquid gels and sauces without leaving a trac behind on the counter!!! It looks like it uses some form of conveyor belt system to get the crap from the surface, but cos the patent is pending, we wont know til later...

Unkle Runaway Video

John Nolan, animatronics designer and director at Streetlight Films UK, whose credits include Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter, Clash Of The Titans, Hellboy 2, Warhorse, Brothers Grimm, Dr Who and Being Human, created an incredible UNKLE robot based on Futura’s Pointmen from the Psyence Ficton and Never Never Land albums.

Its splintered synths and a shuddering bass-line create an aggression and energy which Nolan harnessed within the robot’s marching stomp towards the camera.

Driverless Vans Reach China From Italy

Remember when Google's autonomous car did 1000 miles and everyone was impressed?

Back in July, a group of autonomous orange EVs from Vislab left Italy on a trip that would take them through cities like Moscow and wastelands like the Gobi Desert, all thanks to an array of laser scanners, cameras, and of course GPS.
It was a 13,000km journey (8,078 miles) that was made with minimal driver intervention and, thanks to the EV-nature of the vehicles, without stopping once for gasoline - though they were limited to about four hours of travel each day before having to recharge. They arrived in Shanghai on 28th October.
