Mati Karmin Mine Art and Sculpture

Mati Karmin is an Estonian sculptor and designer who creates mad art pieces and fully functional objects from found sea mines! Mati finds mines on the shore of the island Naissaar, located in the Gulf of Finland, not far from Tallinn. This was a former military facility, where mines have remained from the First and Second World Wars....

Treat Me Like Your Mother by Jonathan Glazer

A really cool music video for a pretty good rock tune. Once again director, Jonathan Glazer smashes it.

Florida School Boardroom Shooting

I wake up this morning to see the news of the irate gunman who felt that his wife had been unfairly dismissed by the school that she worked for. He walks into the boardroom meeting, sprays a 'V for Vendetta' logo on the wall and then tries to shoot half the people in the room before shooting himself....wtf.

XM25 Smart Rifle To Be Game Changer

That blog headline is according to US Military spokesman, Lieutenant Colonel Chris Lehner, program manager for the XM25. The Pentagon has rolled out prototypes of its first-ever programmable "smart" grenade launcher, a shoulder-fired weapon that uses microchipped ammunition to target and kill the enemy, even when the enemy is hidden behind walls or other cover.

The XM25 Counter Defilade Target Engagement System, about the size of a regular rifle, has now been deployed to US units on the battlefields of Afghanistan, where the Army expects it to be a "game-changer" in its counterinsurgency operations.

It fires 25mm air-bursting shells up to (700 metres), well past the range of most rifles used by today's soldiers, and programs them to explode at a precise distance, allowing troops to neutralise insurgents hiding behind walls, rocks or trenches or inside buildings.

The revolutionary advance involves an array of sights, sensors and lasers that reads the distance to the target, assesses elements such as air pressure, temperature, and ballistics and then sends that data to the microchip embedded in the XM25 shell before it is launched.

The Pentagon plans to purchase at least 12,500 of the guns - at a price tag of $US25,000 to $US30,000 each - beginning next year, enough for one in each Infantry squad and Special Forces team....Gary Oldman could soon be selling the US Military his own weapons in the near future!

Vanquish the Video Game Looks Amazing

Last week, SEGA held an event in Tokyo to showcase the recently announced sci-fi shooter, Vanquish, to a smattering of international game journalists. The highspeed gunfights made this title really stick out. Not only that, but the game was created by Director Shinji Mikami, who is credited for being the creator of the seminal Resident Evil series!! Vanquish looks like Iron Man crossed with Lost Planet 2....The trailers are incredible...the game will be released later this year.

Broken Bottle 2

This game is going to be popular with mums and dads I'm sure...
"A NEW iPhone app that simulates a violent glassing attack has sparked fury among parents. Broken Bottle 2 lets users pick a wine, whisky or beer bottle as their "weapon". Using the gadget's motion sensors, the end of the bottle can be smashed off with a flick of the wrist. The app, available in the iTunes store, encourages users: "Swing to slash! Thrust to stab!" The bottle's edge becomes splattered with blood, accompanied by sick sound effects."

Kanellos The Greek Riot Dog

Simply incredible...A lone dog that has been seen at nearly every demonstration in Athens over the last two years has turned up again during the recent protests against new austerity measures. I mean, seriously, WTF?! What would make a dog go to EVERY protest in Athens?? A re-incarnation of a former protester? A dog that likes a fight with the po-po now and then? The photos really had me thinking....

Phone Pics

I lost the cable that connects my phone to my laptop, but luckily for me, my phone is super out of date and my lady's flatmate had an old one that she dusted off to give me. Thanks Erin! One day this medium of camera will be super art fag and every gallery in town will want a piece, so without further or do, here is a selection of the best from my phone:

lol and not so lol (the other way round)

Being held up indoors all day by some fassy cops because the guy from across the road got shot is not the best way to spend Tuesday, but it did give me the chance to look at the internet for a substantial amount of wasted time.

Result:

4 Arrests On Brick Lane During Sample Sale Riot

It was pure madness on Brick lane today. Uber-trendy American Apparel were going to do a sample sale today and ended up having it shut down in less than an hour by police as thousands of youths converged on the Truman Brewery from the early morning, up until lunchtime...Secrett Agent blog was covering the whole thing and got some great pictures and this awesome video of a scuffle between 4 guys and the po-po....

I mean, honestly...all this drama for an American Apparel sale?? The price of being fashionable, eh?
